Draft Results Of All Oklahoma Sooners Players In This Years NFL 2012 Draft
Seven players from the University of Oklahoma were selected in the 2012 NFL Draft. Receiver Ryan Broyles, the first Sooner picked, went to the Detroit Lions in the second round. The Lions went on to draft two more from Oklahoma, linebackers Ronnell Lewis in the fourth and Travis Lewis in the seventh.
Two Sooners returned home with offensive tackle Donald Stephenson drafted by Kansas City in the third round and tight end James Hanna to the Dallas Cowboys in the sixth. Corner Jamell Fleming headed to Arizona and the Cardinals in the third round while defensive end Frank Alexander was selected by Carolina in the fourth.
Fifty-nine players have now been drafted during the Bob Stoops' era at OU and 357 since the NFL introduced the draft in 1936. Since that time, OU has been the most consistent program in the nation in supplying talent to the pros. A Sooner has been selected in 75 of the 77 NFL Drafts (only misses were in 1995 and 1962). Notre Dame (74 of 77) and USC (72 of 77) follow OU.

OU's Travis Lewis was picked by the Detroit Lions (the third Sooner for the franchise in this draft) in the 7th round. Lewis was the seventh Sooner selected in the 2012 draft, 357th all-time OU player drafted, 59th player drafted in the Stoops' era, 41st linebacker drafted from OU all-time and 20th Sooner picked all-time by the Lions.
JAMES HANNA
Oklahoma TE James Hanna was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 6th round of the NFL Draft. Hanna was the sixth Sooner selected in the 2012 draft, 356th all-time OU player drafted, 58th player drafted in the Stoops' era, 12th tight end drafted from OU all-time and 11th Sooner picked all-time by the Cowboys.

Oklahoma's Ronnell Lewis was picked by the Detroit Lions in the 4th round of the NFL Draft. Lewis was the fifth Sooner selected in the 2012 draft, 355th all-time OU player drafted, 57th player drafted in the Stoops' era, 40th linebacker drafted from OU all-time and 19th Sooner picked all-time by the Lions.
FRANK ALEXANDER
Oklahoma's Frank Alexander was picked by the Carolina Panthers in the 4th round of the NFL Draft. Alexander was the 4th Sooner selected in the 2012 draft, 354th all-time OU player drafted, 56th player drafted in the Stoops' era, 16th defensive end drafted from OU all-time and second Sooner picked all-time by the Panthers.

Broyles was the first Sooner selected in the 2012 Draft, 351st all-time OU player drafted, 53rd player drafted in the Stoops' era, 21st receiver drafted from OU all-time and 18th Sooner picked all-time by the Lions.

OT Donald Stephenson was picked by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the NFL Draft. Stephenson was the second Sooner selected in the 2012 draft, 352nd all-time OU player drafted, 54th player drafted in the Stoops' era, 46th offensive tackle drafted from OU all-time and sixth Sooner picked all-time by the Chiefs.
