Derek Jeter is back in the New York Yankees' lineup, and he intends to make his return stick this time.
The 39-year-old captain was activated from the 15-day disabled list Sunday and was set to play shortstop and bat second against the Tampa Ray Rays.
Jeter sustained a Grade 1 strained his right quadriceps running out a groundball July 11 in his first game back from breaking his ankle during the opener of the AL championship series in October.
The 13-time All-Star says the whole experience has been frustrating. He says he hopes to play every day for the Yankees, who have lost six of nine.
Jeter says it's going to be difficult to be a little careful at first when running out grounders.
