Teams get extra time to adjust to new track surfaces
NASCAR has added two days to the Pocono Raceway weekend and one to the Michigan race weekend in June so all teams get a chance to tackle the repaved tracks.

NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith says the NFL must release to the union all relevant information pertaining to its investigation of the New Orleans Saints' bounty program before making any recommendations or rulings on possible penalties for players. He Said The Following - As of yet, they haven't turned over anything that we would consider to be direct evidence of player involvement in a 'pay-to-injure' scheme that we could consider for discipline.

Nascar At Martinsville 2012 qualifying recap
Kahne, 27th in points and without a top-10 finish in five starts in the Sprint Cup Series this season, captured the pole with a lap of 97.128 mph. His effort knocked defending race winner Kevin Harvick (97.048) off the top spot to the outside of the front row.
“We’ve had great Fridays and Saturdays,” Kahne said, “we’ve just not had great Sundays.
“It was a really solid lap. I felt like the car was really balanced well (Friday). ... I’m glad we can start up front and have a great pit stall.”
Kahne, who started on the pole at Las Vegas three weeks ago, is in his first season with Hendrick Motorsports. The 12-time race winner has yet to finish better than 14th this year.
Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer and Ryan Newman completed the top five for Sunday’s 43-car field.
Series points leader Greg Biffle will start 26th while defending series champion Tony Stewart will go off 15th.
“I just spun (the tires) a little off (Turn) 4, and that cost me a few hundredths,” Biffle said. “Qualifying was our biggest struggle. It’s not where we wanted to be, but we’ve got 500 laps tomorrow to get there.”
Dale Earnhardt Jr. will start 14th, and Jeff Gordon, fastest in both practice sessions Friday and a seven-time Martinsville winner, will start ninth.
J.J. Yeley, Scott Speed and Mike Bliss failed to qualify, although Yeley was reinstated when the qualifying time for Tony Raines was disallowed. According to NASCAR officials, Raines’ entry failed postqualifying inspection (too low).
Sunday’s race, the sixth of 36 points races, is scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET start.
