Dale Earnhardt Jr. will drive a black Batman-themed Chevrolet with the Bat Shield on the hood during the June 17 Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Speedway.
Earnhardt’s Mountain Dew-sponsored Chevrolet will feature a paint scheme promoting the new “The Dark Knight Rises” movie, which opens July 20. Fans voted on which Batman-themed paint scheme the car will carry. The winning design was announced Friday at the Hendrick Motorsports Fan Fest.
After a week and a half of voting, Earnhardt revealed Friday that the car will feature the Bat Shield on the hood with Batman and Bane, the movie's villain, on the sides.
"Dew and 'Dark Knight' fans have spoken, and it's pretty cool that the paint scheme they picked is the one I helped create," Earnhardt said. "Now that the winning design has been selected, I can't wait to see how fans will react to the car on the track in Michigan.”
