World Of Outlaw Sprint Cars: Eldora Speedway 5-4-12 live Updates
established sports official facebook
(3:58 p.m.) We are facing bad Internet issues here at Eldora Speedway, so the updates won't be as detailed or often as usual. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The temperature is in the low 80s with a slight breeze. It's fairly humid and the sun keeps breaking through the clouds.
Teams are starting to fill the pits in the infield. The drivers meeting is set for 5:15 p.m.
FORMAT: There are 33 sprint cars here. Each will get two qualifying laps, which will determine the starting lineup for the four, eight-lap heat races. The heats are inverted by four (meaning the fast qualifier starts fourth in the first heat, the second fastest starts fourth in the second heat, etc.) and the top-five finishers advance to the 30-lap feature.
The top two in each heat plus the next two fastest drivers in qualifying who advance to the feature (but don't finish in the top two in the heats) will compete in a six-lap dash.
The drivers who don't advance to the feature will compete in a 12-lap Last Chance Showdown, which transfers the top four to the feature.
David Gravel was the fastest in qualifying with a lap of 13.228 seconds, which was three-thousandths quicker than Chad Kemenah. Steve Kinser (13.277 seconds), Daryn Pittman (13.288) and Jac Haudenschild (13.291) completed the top five. The top 20 drivers were separated by less than three-tenths of a second.
